B. Sc. OT & AT Anesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology

Minimum Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should have passed diploma (after 10+2) in Anesthesia or operation theatre technology from Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Training Board or from any recognized state board of technical education
with minimum aggregate of 50% marks
OR
Applicants should have passed 10+2 examination with medical stream at least 50% aggregate and 50% Marks combined in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (45% in case reserved category) from any recognized board of school education.

Carrer oppournity
This program will help the students with forming a strong base in anesthesia technology which will equip them with the skills of choosing the right anesthetic that should be given to any patient on the basis of their medical condition. They also gain a good knowledge of the correct equipment that needs to be used and the dosage of the anesthetic that they would be giving. They will be able to prepare project proposal with selected research design and interpret the evaluate outcome measures (using sound data processing techniques and statistical methods). She/he will be able to practice in their specialty area with advanced knowledge and skills.
Scope
Hospitals are the primary recruiters of Surgical/ operation theater technologists. They work in the operating theaters, ICUs and emergency departments of hospitals and nursing homes.
Openings are available in the areas of transplant teams, orthopedic clinics, gynecology sections, cancer units, surgery, special care baby units etc. and also in the field of research, education and training. They are appointed in the workplaces of physicians or dentists who perform outpatient surgery.
Employment opportunities can be found in hospitals in both private and public sectors as well as in independent healthcare clinics and as well as teaching institutes. Demonstrate ability to make clinical decision regarding Operation Theatre technology and Anesthesia techniques and select appropriate outcome measures based on the comprehensive knowledge of specialty.
